Cloud Inversion Sunrise

A few days ago I got to take my drone for a spin as the sun rose over Kachess Lake in Washington, just north of I-90. Being from an arid desert climate, this is not my usual terrain and the foggy conditions were spectacular. The cloud inversion over the lake provided a layer of fog between the ground and about 100m up. Emerging from the cloud, I was able to see Mount Daniel and Mount Hinman to the north.
This panorama shows a wide view of the fog-covered lake and surrounding mountains.
The swirling fog glowing as the sun hits:
And the next scene shows the shrouded forest as the drone descended into the thick fog π«οΈ

After that, I hit the road again for a full day, traversing the NW quadrant of the country down to Salt Lake City.
